JSSC JILCCE 2026 Preliminary Exam Pattern
The Preliminary Examination will consist of 120 objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) based on General Knowledge and related subjects. The duration of the examination will be 2 hours.
JSSC JILCCE 2026 Preliminary Examination is designed to assess candidates’ general awareness, knowledge of Jharkhand, mathematical ability, scientific aptitude, and reasoning skills. Candidates should review the subject-wise question distribution to understand the exam structure and prepare effectively for the preliminary stage of the recruitment process

JSSC JILCCE 2026 Preliminary Exam Syllabus
The Preliminary Examination is designed to assess a candidate’s general knowledge, awareness of Jharkhand, mathematical aptitude, scientific understanding, and reasoning ability.
1. General Studies
This section tests the candidate’s general awareness and understanding of current events and everyday observations. Questions may cover topics such as Indian History, Geography, Indian Constitution, Economy, Environment, National and International Current Affairs, Science and Technology, Awards and Honors, Important Books, Languages, Capitals, Sports, Cultural Heritage, and Government Schemes.
2. Jharkhand State Related Knowledge
Questions in this section focus on Jharkhand’s Geography, History, Culture, Heritage, Literature, Languages, Mineral Resources, Industries, Economy, Tourism, Tribal Communities, Freedom Movement, Important Personalities, Awards, and the state’s contribution to national development.
3. General Mathematics
This section includes questions from basic Mathematics such as Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, and Statistics. The difficulty level is generally based on the Class 10 (Matriculation) standard.
4. General Science
Questions are based on everyday scientific concepts and practical applications of science. The syllabus primarily covers Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, and general scientific observations up to the Matriculation level.
5. Mental Ability Test
This section evaluates logical thinking and analytical skills. It includes questions on Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, Analogies, Classification, Coding-Decoding, Series, Blood Relations, Direction Sense, Problem Solving, Analytical Reasoning, Visual Reasoning, and Logical Decision Making
JSSC JILCCE 2026 Main Examination
Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Examination based on their performance in the Preliminary Examination. The Commission will prepare a merit list category-wise, and candidates will be selected for the Main Examination according to the prescribed ratio. If multiple candidates secure the same cut-off marks, all such candidates will also be eligible to appear for the Main Examination
The Main Examination consists of three papers, each carrying objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The duration of each paper will be 2 hours. Every correct answer carries 3 marks, while 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
